Community involvement

Way Fong owes a great deal of gratitude to the communities that has given us the opportunity not only to survive, but to thrive. We are committed to never to that for granted. As a result, Way Fong is committed to continued reinvestment back into the community that it serves.

How We Support The NYPD

Bullet Proof Vests

In 2023, Way Fong donated the funds necessary to ensure adequate Bullet Proof Vest protection for every NYPD plain clothed Detective. These bespoke vests can be worn under plain clothes to ensure the same level of protection as Uniformed colleagues.

Gym and Fitness Center

In 2022, Way Fong led the 108 Precinct Gym Renovation Project, helping to ensure that each officer has the support needed for their health and well-being. In 2024, Way Fong took its commitment even further by helping build the city’s first Fitness Center to the 110 Precinct. The project inspired businesses across all of NYC to follow suit and ensure every NYPD Precinct had new Fitness Centers.

NYPD Real Time Crime Center

In 2023, Way Fong co-sponsored half of the cutting-edge $500k NYPD Real-time Crime Center Emergency Mobile Response Van. The van plays a crucial role in helping NYPD analysts identify criminal activity and assists detectives in apprehending dangerous criminals.

SCBA Identifies

In 2024, Way fong helped purchase 3000 SCBA Identifies (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus) which is a special tag affixed to the SCBA air cylinder that provide the user with breathable air while operating in hazardous conditions. The identifies ID the company that the firefighter belongs to and identifies members more easily when they are on the fire ground and at emergencies.

Sanitation Equipment

In 2022, Way Fong donated Hazmat Protection Wear and Sanitation Equipment to ensure that every firehouse in NYC always has ready and clear gear, free from harmful and carcinogenic contaminants. These Sanitation Equipment kits are essential for protecting the Firefighter and ensuring that equipment is always ready to be relied upon at a moment’s notice.

Master Ladders

In 2025, Way Fong replaced critically depleted and essential FDNY Master Ladders across 25 of the city’s largest Firehouses. These ladders are essential to helping Firefighters and EMS technicians reach folks in need that traditional Firetruck ladders cannot reach.
